BLUE CONESTOGA

Authentic from the 1850’s.
- 15 feet long, 4 feet wide with both ends slanted up.
- Wheels are 44 inches and 48 inches.
- Cover is reproduction in cotton
- Came from Wilkes-Barre PA, brokered by Wagon Masters in O’Fallon, MO (now out of business)
- Purchased by Friends for the NFTM in 1994 for $8000.00

Green Prairie Schooner

With roots as genuine as the prairie winds, this Green Prairie Schooner—purchased with care by Friends of the NFTM in 1994—carries a story in every weathered board and sun-warmed wheel, lovingly preserved and thoughtfully restored to honor its enduring spirit.
Purchased by Friends for the NFTM at Wagon Master in O’Fallon in January 1994 for $1245.00

Refurbishments by Werner Wagons
- Running gear in front changed from circular hounds to the wishbone type
- Side of the bed got new vertical and horizontal braces
- Front and back ends of the bed was slightly slanted to produce overhang of the bows which support the cover.
- Cover is reproduction in cotton
- Antiquing process
- Roughing up wood
- Staining and painting all areas
- New wood stained with ebony, raw umber or grey paint
- Color coat of green for the box and red oxide for wheels and undercarriage. Followed by another coat of raw umber stain to darken colors
